“Deported to the Camps”

On February 19, 1942, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, interning approximately 120,000 Japanese Americans. But the order had implications far beyond American shores. Thousands of Japanese living in Peru and 12 other countries in South America were deported to the U.S. Camps. Libia Yamamoto was one of them.
